Pre-internet, the only way to share news and information about your business was to create a brochure or a flyer. But now that you are online, starting a newsletter for your online business is the cheapest and most effective method to share information in your own words.

To help create trust with online consumers, being an authority on the products that you offer only strengthens your brand.

What Do You Write About?

First ask yourself what are you selling? If you are selling cedar dog houses, you won’t talk about bathroom fixtures. (unless you have ideas about installing toilets in dog houses!) But instead you can talk about pet safe paints, bedding suggestions, safety supplies and etc for your backyard bestie.

You could write a lot of newsletters centered around dog houses that will make you the authority on dog houses and pet housing care. This will keep your customers interested and remind them who you are.

Who Will Write The Newsletters?

As an entrepreneur, you wear many hats. Not only all the hats for your online business, but your hats in your personal life. So you may want to consider assigning someone to be the editor for your newsletters or set aside time to write several newsletters out in advance so you can start scheduling them. When you are just starting a newsletter you will want to build up your content pool.

If you don’t know anyone personally that can write about these topics, consider finding a writer on a service like Fiverr.com
